Preventative strategies

Nosocomial infections

Nosocomial infections preventative strategies is as complex as the many different factors that contribute to contamination, such as:

Each of these elements, and their interaction, can be the cause of nosocomial infections.
For certain patients who are at higher risk, prevention is much more difficult. Zero risk does not exist, but it is possible to approach if the strict observance of the rules of hygiene is reinforced by the use of the right equipment. Today it is possible to optimise this approach by using RADA SENSE systems. Designed to avoid physical contact and thus limit bacterial propagation, this device is comprised of a control panel mounted to the wall, which allows temperature control without contact, plus has a rinse cycle and thermal disinfection system that further limit the spread of bacteria and microbes.

Thanks to its programmable flow periods, the Rada Sense system allows the bath to be a moment of well being while ensuring hygiene at the highest level.

WORKPLACE ERGONOMICS PREVENTING MUSCULOSKELETAL INJURIES AND ACCIDENTS

Manual lifting, transfer and repositioning of patients are still too often a direct cause of injury to caregivers, who in particular suffer from back pains (neck, spine and lower back). These disorders can come about suddenly as a result of an accident or gradually by the wearing of vertebrae from repetitive movements.

Ergonomics revolves around the notions of practicality and sturdiness.

During baths
The use of variable height bathtubs facilitates patient transfer and manipulation. Secure temperature mixing valves prevent burn accidents. Precise up/down controls ensure complete safety during the patient’s transfer.

During transfers
Standing lifts can simply and ergonomically transfer patients. Slings with aluminium base feature easy and comfortable handling that help the caregiver safely hoist patients. Transfer stretchers allow patients to be immersed in the bathtub in a lying-down position, thus facilitating this activity.
